For the first time in Greece, a unique event. A celebration of rudimental drumming and marching bands percussion

The Society of International Rudimental Drummers (SIRD) is organising the 3rd global symposium for rudimental drummers, which will be in Portsmouth, United Kingdom between Friday 16th and Sunday 18th September 2022. 

The SIRD & NARD Finland Christmas Special event started from with an idea to bring people together and share the tradition now that world is starting to open up.

The 2nd SIRD digital Event took place live on Youtube on Saturday 18 September 2021. After the resounding success of the previous event, in the middle of the pandemic, we prepared a new edition, rich and diversified.

Despite the postponement of the symposium to next year, we have decided to hold a virtual event on Saturday, September 19, 2020. This day will be marked by a rich program combining prerecorded content, presentations and live events.

From September 28-30 fifty-seven rudimental drummers from 13 countries met in Paris to share musical traditions from their countries relating to Rudimental Drumming, discuss notational systems and their impact on performance, discuss best practices around education and organization of support for traditional activities.

The first international rudimental drummers' symposium drum symposium was held from September 9 to 11, 2016 in Bern, organized by the Swiss drum and fife association, with help from the Swiss military music.
